「なでしこ」テック４０コース！！！・・・Japanese Girl's Tec40 Course!!

テックダイビングをご存知でしょうか？通常知られているダイビングは、レクリエーショナル・ダイビングというもので、タンク１本を使用し、減圧限界内での最大水深４０mまでのダイビングを行うものです。テックダイビングとは、２本以上のタンクを使用した、簡単に言うと、深く長く潜るダイビングです。日本では、まだあまり行われていませんが、ここマルタでは、水深４０m、５０m、６０m、７０m、そして１００mの各水深に沈船があり、テックダイビングがとても盛んです。

今月、日本人女子２名が、テックダイビングのコースに挑戦し、テック４０の資格を取得しました。
初日はまず、ダブルタンクを使用しての初ダイビング。シングル・タンクとは異なるバランス、そして重量に少々苦戦。２日目には９２分、９３分、３日目は６５分のダイビングを行い、ダブルタンクでのダイビングを更に練習。その合間には学課も行い、トレーニング合宿といった感じ。でも頑張りました！ついに水平姿勢を保てるように！！テック用のフィンではないため、フィンが少々浮き気味でしたが、それはご愛嬌。

この姿勢を保つのは、結構大変なのです。
７日間に及ぶトレーニングの最後は、ゴゾ島での沈船ダイビング。最大水深４０m、２１mでナイトロックス５０％のステージ・ガスへ交換し、１８m、１５m、１２m、９m、そして６mでの減圧停止、そこから５m、４m、３m、２m、１mとゆっくり浮上。これらの停止も、とても上手に行えました。
見ている私の方が、興奮気味でした。（苦笑）
これからももっともっと、ダイビングの更なる可能性に挑戦してもらいたいです！

ドラゴナーラ・ハウスリーフ・・・Dragonara House Reef

ダイブワイズでは、ダイバーさん達との最初のダイビングは様々なチェックを兼ねて、簡単なリーフダイビングから始めます。器材の具合や正しいウェイトなどもチェックし、簡単なスキルも確認します。マルタ島のダイビングは、体育会系なサイトが多いので、まずはしっかりと全てを確認し、次へのダイビングへのウォームアップを行うわけです。

ダイブワイズのあるドラゴナーラは、魚が良く集まるハウスリーフがあります。カウ・ブリーム、ターキッシュ・ラス、ペインテッド・コンバー、メディタラニアン・カーディナルフィッシュ、などなど。３０mを超える透明度の中、草原の様に生い茂るポセドニアの上を、まるで空中を飛んでいるようにダイビングを楽しみます。とても特徴的な雰囲気を、皆さんも是非体験してみてください。(写真：Sarah Shaw）

At Divewise, we start with very easy reef diving for 1st dive for all divers, checking equipments, weights, and a few basic skills at beginning. We have rather challenging dive sites in Malta, so we would like to make sure that everything is working fine, having warm up before taking you out for the next place.
Dragonara, at where Divewise is located, has very rich house reef with schools of fish; Cow-bream, Turkish-wrasse, Painted-comber, Mediterranean-cardinal fish, etc. With over 30m visibility, you will feel like flying over sea grass called Posedonia. 地中海ウミウシ・スペシャルティ！・・・Meditteranean Sea Slug Specialty!!

ウミウシ、好きですか？地中海にも特有のウミウシがいます。熱帯地方に比べ、小型サイズが主流ですが、そこがまたカワイイ！私もウミウシ好きなのですが、これがまた見つけるのは一苦労。今回、地中海ウミウシ・スペシャルティに挑戦しました。これは、限定スペシャルティのため、取得できるのは、マルタ島ダイブワイズだけ。ダイビング２本、ウミウシの勉強をしながら行います。ちゃんと小テストもあります。今回は、他のダイブセンターのインストラクター、ジョンと一緒に参加。講師はサラ姉さん。この二人、とにかくウミウシ大好きで、ウミウシの話をさせるともう止まらない！そんでもって、ウミウシ探しを始めると、これまた止まらない！１本目のダイビング、最大水深３４m、ダイブタイム７６分、２本目のダイビング、最大水深３４m、ダイブタイム８３分！！ナイトロックスの利点を「これでもか！」という程に活かしきったダイビングでした。


Do you like sea slugs? There are very unique sea slugs in Meditteranean. Most of them are much smaller than ones you find in warm water, but they are so cute!! I love sea slugs; however, finding them is extremely difficult. I took the Meditteranean Sea Slug
Specialty this time. This specialty is distinctive, so you can only take in Divewise, Malta. It requires 2 dives with study and a quiz. I took the course with John, another instructor from different dive centre. The instructor is Sarah, a big sister of Divewise. These two people just love sea slugs so much. Once they start talking about sea slugs, they never stop! Then once they start looking for sea slugs, they love to go on forever! First dive, max depth 34m, dive time 76min. Second dive, max depth 34m, dive time 83min. We have utilized the very maximum benefit of Nitrox in those dives.   

コミノ島でダイビング！・・・Diving in Comino!

今年もいよいよコミノ島のダイビングの季節が始まりました。今回は日本人女子４名も参加。オープンウォーター取得後初のファンダイビングや、アドバンスのレッスンダイビングを兼ねてダイビングという、ダイビングを初めて間もないチーム。透明度も３０mほどあり、波も穏やかで、とても良いコンディションでした。

Comino season has come! 4 Japanese girls joined this time. One having the first pleasure dives after finishing OW course and others diving as part of their AOW courses, so it was relatively young divers group. Visibility was about 30m and sea was very calm. Beutiful condition it was!

新しいドライスーツはピンク！！・・・My new dry suit is PINK!!

今年最初の大きなお買い物。ドライスーツを新調しちゃいました！イギリスの会社、オッター・ドライスーツ(Otter Drysuits)の、メンブレン・ドライスーツの一つ、ブリタニックMK2というタイプ。フレキシビリティも良く、耐久性も強い一品。前回購入したサンティ(Santi)のスーツは、耐久性という点では残念な結果だったので、今回のスーツはかなり期待しているところ。
デザイン的にも、余分な空気を溜め込まないよう、工夫されている。その上、色の選択肢も多く、黒ばっかりのヨーロッパ・ダイバー達の中で、個性が加わって良い感じ。
日本人としては、やはり黒ばっかりではつまらないので、今回のピンク、かなり良い感じ。
評判も上々。このタイプは、あまり日本では見かけないけれど、インナーの種類を変えることで、３シーズン快適に使用する事ができ、ドライをいつも使用したい人には良いのよね。ただ、ネオプレンのドライに比べると、少々お値段が・・・そこは、どれだけダイビングに投資できるかにも関わってくるかしらん。
My first big shopping of this year. I bought a new dry suit, Britannic MK2 by Otter Drysuits, UK. It has good flexibility and strength. My former suit by Santi was good looking but wasn't strong enough, which disappointed me a lot. I am expecting better with this new suit.
Its design is good as well, squeezing excess air better. Besides, there are variety of colours. It makes unique among "all black" European divers.
As a Japanese, it is not fun to have just black. This pink looks quite nice. I've received very good comments about it. This type of dry suit isn't common in Japan; however, it is quite nice for "dry suit" lovers for you can choose different inner garments according to the season. The only down side is the price. It is a bit more expensive than neoprene suits. It depends how much you want to invest for your diving, I guess.

2014年、始まっちゃいました！！おめでとうございます！！今年はどんな年になるのでしょう。皆さんにとって、実り多き年となるよう、心よりお祈り申し上げております。

Year 2014 has begun!! A Happy New Year! I wonder how it is going to be like this year. I pray this year to become fruitful year for you all.
Now, it is becoming fruitful start for Malta already. BS Japan is going to have a special program about Malta on 4th of January from 9pm for 2 hours!! Wonderful!!
